If you’ve gotta have a swan song from a job, this isn’t a bad way to go. My favorite people dressed as my favorite people.

I put my heart into this portfolio and I can’t thank everyone enough for playing along.

The man behind the mask is looking for the book with the pages torn out. He is going towards the hiding place.

Case - Neuromancer. Pencil on moleskine page, check out the book if you haven’t read it yet!
A portrait of the main character ‘Case’ from the book Neuromancer by William Gibson. Maybe I should explain some of the symbolism. My favorite part of the book is the exotic descriptions of the way the human mind processes the vast constellations of data in cyberspace into a semi tangible space in the ‘infinite non-space of the mind’, basically this explains most of the swirly void-type shit. The chinese character is both symbolic of Case’s location at the beginning of the novel (a sort of futuristic China known as Chiba) and is the character Li, the neu-confusion meaning. It is a concept used to describe the seeming order in non symmetric, non repetative, totally chaotic naturally forming systems. For example clouds, or the grain in wood. It is hard to explain exactly why there seems to be a balance or order in these systems, but this idea can be called ‘Li’ (if I understand it right, I’m just parroting an Alan Watts talk). The idea was this could be symbolic of the way data seems to form giant constellations in cyberspace within the book. The white cube is the rogue AI WINTERMUTE and the girl is Molly, two other central characters, hope you like it!
